Education
Meltdowns is committed to expanding & improving course provision through the continued development of the education programmes.
Priding ourselves on a professional & innovative approach, we deliver high quality sessions in an inspiring environment. We do not compromise on any aspect of the process or subject matter covered & deliver a programme that is currently unavailable elsewhere across the region.
Our philosophy
- provide artists with excellent teaching & training, informed by research, practical application & conceptual understanding for effective learning
- have a recognised reputation nationally & internationally for high quality programmes of study
- engage more people in the arts by providing a wide range of educational opportunities
- support the retention of creative graduates within the area
- actively contribute to the intellectual, cultural, social & economic life of our local & wider communities
- work with schools, universities, business & the public to offer tailored, flexible courses
- maintain an identity based on academic & professional enquiry
- promote & develop professional practice
With an extensive portfolio of courses already offered, largely centred on traditional sculptural processes, our vision is to enhance our supporting contemporary programme of study & enable other practitioners to lead a variety of creative sessions.
Through family workshops during the school holidays to personal tuition tailored to student requirement, we endeavour to share our knowledge & expertise, inspire creativity & provide the opportunity for unexpected connections to occur, friendships to be formed & working partnerships to be established.
Whilst establishing national & international recognition for the centre through exchanges, gaining accreditation for courses & linking in closely with the school curriculum, we are also developing partnerships with further & higher education institutions & business.
Each of the tutors delivering the courses are either Affiliate or Full members of the Institute for Learning (IFL), ‘the professional body for teachers, trainers & students in the learning and skills sector’ & Stacy has just completed her Diploma for Teaching & Training in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
